Citrus Dental Care Private Treatments
Cosmetic dental treatments allow you to improve imperfections such as dark teeth, stained teeth, worn down or broken teeth, crooked teeth or missing teeth, fine lines and wrinkles. Treatments include:
A dental implant is a dental device that is used to replace a missing tooth or to serve as an anchor for dentures. The implant consists of a metal post that is implanted into the jawbone where it acts as an artificial root. The post is made of titanium, a metal that is used in many other types of prosthetics as well, including artificial joints. In implant supported bridges and dentures, the post serves as an anchor to keep the denture or bridge securely in place. When replacing a single tooth, implant abutment is placed on the implant and serves as a connector for a dental crown.
Of course, you can never stop the natural ageing process, but a healthy diet and lifestyle will help slow this down and may minimise aging effects. Regular exercise, keeping hydrated, along with a healthy diet will all help.
But if you’re looking for some help you to look rejuvenated, and restore your personal confidence, facial aesthetic treatments may be used to soften lines and define facial contours.
We offer solutions to help you restore a healthier, younger looking you. These treatments are a fuss-free and straightforward option if you are looking to soften lines and wrinkles, or to lift your brows or jowls. Book a consultation to see if these treatments could suit you.
Dentists are highly knowledgeable about the anatomy of the face and understand how to treat it safely. They’re used to looking at people’s faces to observe symmetry and balance to create aesthetically pleasing smiles. Dentists also have skills honed with years of administering injections in difficult and restrictive areas, which also enables them to use traditional local anaesthesia if necessary
Teeth Coloured Fillings
Fillings are materials placed in the teeth to replace parts of a natural tooth. The most common cause is dental decay (dental caries), a bacterial-induced process that dissolves the tooth. However, other causes exist which include erosion, a process whereby tooth substance is dissolved by acid either from dietary sources or by regurgitation, and abrasion caused by mechanical wearing of the teeth eg incorrect tooth brushing. The loss of tooth substance created by the process can lead to pain as a result of exposure of the sensitive parts of the tooth called the dentine and pulp.
Tooth-coloured or ‘white’ fillings allow you to smile without a metallic glint in sight, giving your teeth a more natural appearance overall.
Teeth may become discoloured while they are forming (during childhood), as a result of an illness or, the use of tetracycline antibiotics. Teeth may also become discoloured when the pulp (nerve and blood vessels) inside the root canal dies or is damaged as a result of tooth decay or trauma. Teeth also darken naturally with age as a result of progressive hardening within the tooth or because of erosion and thinning of the enamel.
Not everyone is happy with their smile or how their teeth look. This can have a major impact on a person’s confidence when it comes to interacting and socialising with others. Veneers are a good treatment option to consider because they look like natural teeth and don’t require a major procedure. Veneers can also be used to close small gaps when braces are not suitable. If one tooth is slightly out of position, a veneer can sometimes be fitted to bring it into line with the others.
Porcelain Crowns and Bridges
If your tooth becomes chipped you should contact your dentist straight away because chipped teeth are weaker and can cause discomfort in your mouth. Left untreated they can also develop more serious problems because the sensitive inner parts of the tooth can be exposed.
Crowns are tooth-shaped caps that fit over the top of your teeth and can be made from metal, porcelain or composite material. Porcelain crowns are the most realistic-looking and are better for teeth nearer the front of the mouth.
If you require a more extensive restoration than a crown or have more than one tooth that needs to be repaired, a good solution is a bridge.
